Binary Ninja: now with native Windows debugging!

I’m a huge fan of Binary Ninja. I can’t wait to see what it can do with Windows Debugging.

FWIW Binja could do debugging on Windows of Windows binaries before this, including doing Time Travel Debugging! Binary Ninja - Having Fun with Flare-on Using Time-Travel Debugging (TTD)

It’s just that they were previously relying on Windows/WinDBG’s DbgEng.dll debugging engine: Debugger Engine Overview - Windows drivers | Microsoft Learn

As they said in the release notes the new Windows debug adapter has performance improvements over the old DbgEng based adapter. The other thing that this should help unlock is remote debugging of Windows machines from non-Windows machines; one of the reasons why I think this wasn’t previously possible was because of the reliance on having DbgEng.dll from the debugging controller machine, for Windows target machines: Consider phasing out LLDB/DbgEng adapters and replace them with OS native debug adapters · Issue #500 · Vector35/debugger · GitHub
