A topic for some threads about comics, graphic novels, manga, manhwa, and whatever else I left off you want to discuss with IFIN folks. Although this may seem off-topic, there are many stories and characters that influence our decisions and world views. Plus y’all are smart, kind nerds and I want to know what is great that I’ve missed! 
Not a huge comic guy, but I love the Conan graphic novels, and I read Superman: Red Son while dog sitting and it was fire
In DC world, Kingdom Come is a must-read. Gotta love an oil-painted comic.
Also I recently went through the Batman Court of Owls run, and it was one of the most enjoyable Gotham stories I’ve ever read.
Older school? Bone, definitely.
As a webcomics dork, I’m also going to recommend two excellent pieces: Rice Boy and Forming.
Definitely second Bone. It’s a lot of fun.
Here’s few that I’ve enjoyed recently.
- Crow Time by Secondlina: very cute, often silly, but they never fail to make me smile
- The Weekly Roll by CME_T: a D&D-based comic following a party of murder-hobos and their shenanigans. It’s hilarious.
- Undead Ed: not entirely sure to describe this one tbh but I recommend it. I really do.
- There’s also another comic by the same author (Boredman) called [Blacksmith]( BlackSmith | WEBTOON ) that I really enjoyed.
- Pepper and Carrot is also great, though more than anything I just love the author’s take on open source and his attempts to make the project work at all are inspiring.
I recently read V for Vendetta for the first time, and holy crap did I enjoy it.
I’m a huge manga/manhwa/light novel nerd and I read TONS of different stuff as they come available on various fanlations/scanlation sites. Here are some of my favorites:
Is It Wrong to Pick up Girls in a Dungeon? This is a shonen light novel (with a manga, and anime, several movies, and spin-offs (Sword Oratoria) and while it has a lot of very typical anime tropes, I love it because its a story about a nobody who wanted to come to the dungeon city of Orario, found a guild (Familia), following a Goddess, and how through a lot of hard work started off as a complete nobody and weakling, gaining confidence, Independence and strength just through determination, will, and the power of friendship™. I love that the world has many gods from many different mythological traditions that are an interesting and different spin on their various mythologies.
Solo leveling: this story is an extremely popular manhwa that is also in the “shonen” Genre. You get to follow the story of Jinwoo, and his rise from being an E-rank monster hunter, to becoming one of the most powerful hunters on the planet and beyond. Okay, I’ll admit this one is edgelord shit, but I really don’t care. The anime announcement put the BIGGEST smile on my face, getting to hear Jinwoo say Arise. No more spoilers, read the manhwa, or watch the anime!
The Greatest Estate Developer: Mainly for the absolutely fucking rediculous faces the protagonist who is, by all measures a heel that is forced to reform his ways, makes through the story. The illustrations alone are hilarious and I love them.
Infinite Mage: This is the story of a young man who wishes to learn magic. As you might imagine in stories like this, its never quite that easy. Magic is the domain of the rich and powerful and the protagonist is neither. A rich story, beautiful illustrations, heartily recommend.
