I’m posting this to make everyone aware. Apparently Florida is now equipping certain schools with militarized drones.
They are designed to exist in the ceiling and can deploy pepper-gel (non-lethal) into the schools/etc. I don’t know if there are plans to equip them with other stuff.
They’re going to be encrypted but controlled wireless from remote. (One location in Austin)
How long before a teenager gets control of one of these things?

Nothing is immune from infiltration and they are going to be essentially equipping some random kid with chaos.

I understand not everything needs to be super complex… but really? Not even a contact page with options beyond a contact email address?
The drones are remotely operated by default, but presumably there’s some sort of local transmitter than can be coopted.

I really don’t mean to diminish the technology, and I highly encourage their usage when/if police have to police. The ability to completely remove danger to officers to see into scary environments is smart. I like the technology…with a cop/cop-like-person standing a few yards away flying their camera-drone. Them being locally controlled is critical.
Even assuming the “hack” is ripping the thing out of the wall and throwing it into a group of students…this is going to be bad.
