This week I was curious about extensions for scripts, especially ones for boot strapping a system so I ran a totally scientific poll on mastodon with 50 replies, seemingly more for ‘yes’ but 34% of respondents said ‘no’, and some of the no responses are also justified in the comments.
In your workflow, how do you decide whether a script should rely on extensions, shebangs, or explicit interpreter calls?
