Hi there. I’m RossMadness.
Once an aspiring English scholar that somehow wound up getting into IT by working for a couple of school districts and volunteering for every job no one else wanted to do. A bit over a decade later I’ve been a desktop tech, systems administrator, security administrator, and for almost 5 years now I’ve been employed as a Security Analyst in the private sector.
I also run a very small business to help nonprofits get discounted technical support and infosec assistance. I also teach lessons to parent groups in my community on how to protect their kids and pass on an understanding of digital safety.
I’ve been a jack of all trades in my career, and I’ve been working on building out other skills in areas that I don’t get to touch often in my day job such as CTI and malware analysis (beyond reading a sandbox report and going “hmmm yes, I see”). I’ve been jumping into conversations over on the Infosec Exchange server and was excited to see this community being launched. Hopefully I can find meaningful ways to contribute to the discourse here.
